Thank you for visiting our website. Looking for a therapist is an important step toward improving your life.
At Dr. Judi Sprei & Associates - DBTMaryand, we understand that life can be stressful and certain situations can be overwhelming. As therapists, we are here to listen and to help you on your path to wellness and a rewarding and effective life. By discussing, exploring, listening, and practicing mindfulness, we will work together to assess your issues and work to resolve them. The road to the life you want to be living takes dedication, hard work, and change. It takes being with someone who knows how to listen and to hear. Our goal is to help you experience success in dealing with issues that are painful for you and get in the way of your living the life you want to live. Psychotherapy is a collaborative effort and we are here to work together with you on your recovery and wellness.
We believe that in order to grow and make changes in their life, people need validation, support & practical skills. We strive to provide an empathic, supportive & productive therapeutic relationship so you can feel safe while moving toward your goals.
Each person's situation is unique and our psychotherapy approach is designed to meet your individual needs. Many of our clients suffer from problems of emotional dysregulation such as borderline personality disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder (), anxiety, depression, and bipolar disorder. These problems are often most effectively addressed by dialectical behavior therapy (DBT.)
Your interest in DBT, Mindfulness, Borderline Personality Disorder or Trauma () or Emotional Eating may have been what brought you to our website. Dialectical behavior therapy is an approach to psychotherapy that we each find to be very effective. While it is the main treatment approach that we use, it is not our only approach. As psychologists, social workers and counselors, we strive to integrate models to find what works best for you. Together, based on your situation and needs, you and your therapist will decide on the most effective therapy for you. For many people who contact us, that is comprehensive DBT. For others, it is eclectic therapy integrating aspects of dialectical behavior therapy, cognitive behavior therapy, and psychodynamic therapy.
No matter what the therapy approach, it is
the energy created when two people sit together and mindfully focus on connection and healing that has been shown by research to be what results in the most healing and growth.
Together, we can make that happen.
