Congratulations on taking this important step toward improving your life. At Dr. Judi Sprei and Associates we believe that in order to grow and make changes in their life, people need validation, support & practical skills. We strive to provide empathic, supportive & productive therapeutic relationships so you can feel safe while moving toward your goals. Each person's situation is unique and our therapy approach is designed to meet your individual needs. Many of our clients suffer from problems of emotional regulation (borderline personality, PTSD, depression, anxiety & bipolar) most effectively addressed by dialectical behavior therapy. However, no matter the approach, it is the healing energy created when two people sit together and mindfully focus on connection and healing that leads to healing and growth. Together we make that happen.
Our therapists have extensive experience in trauma recovery, depression, anxiety, interpersonal relationships & problems of daily living. We offer individual, couple, & emotional regulation skills therapy & supervision for therapists. Perhaps you are feeling stuck. In an atmosphere of validation, you can make difficult changes & feel more in control of your life.
Our downtown Bethesda office is easy to get to from the Beltway or Metro and parking is easy. Our office is a relaxed setting for your process of healing. If we can be of help to you, we encourage you to call. You don't have to do this alone.
While we specialize in providing Comprehensive DBT therapy to adolescents, adults, and families, we also provide a wide range of services to meet your emotional and mental health needs.
Dr. Judi Sprei and Associates, DBTMaryland specializes in the treatment of problems of emotional regulation such as borderline personality disorder, PTSD ( stress disorder), anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, dissociative disorders, and emotional eating. What these problems all have in common is an underlying issue of emotional dysregulation. Therefore, while different in many ways, they are alike in many ways as well. We are less interested in labeling the problem than in helping our clients develop the skills to get relief from their symptoms. For many of these issues, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), which teaches people the skills to live a more effective and emotionally regulated life, is a very helpful method of treatment. DBT teaches the skills of mindfulness, emotional regulation, interpersonal effectiveness, and distress tolerance. (See: About DBT.) These skills, along with the individual psychotherapy component of DBT, help you to create the life you want to live and to be more in control of your emotions and your behavior.
